You can't kill the boogeyman.

Happy Halloween everyone! I've been pretty much absent from this blog since my first post. I started school again (my senior year) and things have been ridiculously busy. I'm going to do my best to try and keep up with this at least semi-regularly from now on, though. And there's no better time to get re-started than Halloween!

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday since I'm so into anything creepy and scary. This week I've been on a horror movie binge to get me more in the mood. I woke up this morning super excited that I actually had a valid reason to wear my skeleton tights. Although who needs a REAL reason to wear these?! They're so cool!

I wanted to style them so that they didn't look too tacky or costume-y and I think I did a pretty good job. This is definitely an outfit that I'd wear on any regular day, Halloween or not. But hey, maybe I'm just a weirdo.

Anyways, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing a screening of Rocky Horror on my school's campus! I'm really excited since no Halloween season is complete without watching it at least once, and sadly this will only be my first time to do so this season! I really want to go somewhere that has a creepy Halloween drink special that's like green or steaming or something cool, but since I live in a super small town, not to mention in a dry country (gross), that probably won't be happening. I suppose I'll just have to make up for it by drinking wine and watching Silence of the Lambs instead. No fava beans and chianti tonight, just two buck chuck and some pumpkin seeds ;) I might even be going to a cemetery though, we'll see. I just feel like doing all of the creepy Halloween festivities!

Tell me what you're doing/wearing for Halloween!

thrift haul! (and first blog post eee)

Helloooo! This is my first blog post everrrrrr! I'm so excited to finally get this thing started, and what better way than to start with a showcase of my latest thrift haul, right? Thrift shopping is probably my favorite type of shopping and has been since I was about 16. I love going into a thrift store without any idea of what I'm going to find and coming out with lovely one-of-a-kind vintage/retro pieces for super cheap- it's kind of a thrill for me. Plus, I feel like thrift store pieces add such uniqueness and character to my style that I probably wouldn't be able to attain otherwise, especially at such cheap prices ;).

Last night I went on a trip to my favorite Savers thrift store since it was 25% off night for card members. This particular Savers store is like solid gold to me, it's full of so many vintage/retro treasures and just plain awesome shit. I found a TOOON of new goodies to add to my already exploding wardrobe, yikes.

I found the two cutest vintage rompers ever. I've been super into rompers and jumpsuits this summer, every time I see one at a store I freak out a bit- they're just so cozy and adorable! The yellow one is probably my favorite find of the night :) Both will look super cute with a woven belt and a pair of boots.

This long sheer knit top reminds me of a mummy's' bandages which is why I fell in love with it. I think it will look perfect over leggings, especially my Egyptian ones from Romwe which I'm sure I'll post soon!

This top came with a matching skirt, and I'll probably wear both to be honest. I love the grandma floral pattern and lace detail of this top and it's also got a bit of a peplum bottom to it. Will definitely be wearing this with my mint colored jeans, maybe also with a leather skirt.

Isn't this print adorable?!

More grandma floral hooraaaay, haha. I seriously can't get enough of it. This skirt will be perfect for the upcoming fall months, especially with a cardigan and boots.

Cute little checked skirt that I'll probably wear with a cut-neck t shirt and black boots with tights for a more grunge-y look.

These houndstooth shorts are definitely my second favorite purchase of the haul. I love the belt and houndstooth is a trending pattern. They're pretty loose and very comfortable and will also be perfect for fall with a sheer flowy top with a cute collar and tights. Can it start getting colder already?

I can't wait to start styling and wearing all of my cute new thrift finds! Next week I move back into my apartment at school which will make it easier for me to start posting more. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my first blog post and thrift haul post. Please let me know what you think :)
